In 2025, the European heat pump market delivered a strong performance. According to a report citing the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), nearly 3 million heat pumps were sold across 21 European countries — a year-on-year increase of approximately 13% — bringing the total installed stock to around 29.3 million units. More importantly, the heat delivered by these systems was equivalent to more than twice the volume of LNG imported by the EU from the Middle East, helping Europe avoid an estimated €9.7 billion in energy import costs in 2025 alone. Heat pumps have moved beyond being a subsidy-driven green option; they are now strategic infrastructure for energy security and household bill stability.

France led the way with approximately 528,000 units sold, followed closely by Italy. On the policy side, the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) continues to drive electrification of new and renovated buildings, while national schemes such as Germany’s KfW programmes and the UK’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme provide ongoing support and market confidence.
At the same time, the supply-chain landscape is evolving. The EHPA has called on Chinese heat pump manufacturers to manufacture, invest and hire in Europe, seeking localisation partnerships to maintain European supply-chain strength. While European assembly rates remain high (over 80% for monobloc units), the long-term trend toward greater localisation is clear.

What does this mean for us? The European market is shifting from pure import toward collaborative growth. Customer requirements are rising in parallel: wider operating temperature ranges, R290 natural-refrigerant compliance, lower noise levels, higher seasonal coefficients of performance (SCOP), and integrated heating-and-cooling capability.
At Nancent, Europe remains a core strategic market. As a manufacturer focused on export-oriented heat pump solutions, our R290 product range, full-inverter technology, low-noise design and PV direct-drive solutions are engineered to better meet the requirements of European residential, light-commercial and swimming-pool applications. With export experience covering more than 60 countries and regions, we are ready to explore deeper collaboration with European partners — whether through localised production, joint R&D or supply-chain synergies.

Energy security has no finish line, and the path to decarbonisation needs reliable partners. We stand ready to deliver high-efficiency, high-reliability and sustainable heat-pump solutions alongside our European customers and partners. We invite you to contact us and start the conversation.
